Who this policy applies to
This policy covers personal information collected through centralcoasttreecare.com.au. It is written to align with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Central Coast Tree Care is a referral website. Enquiries submitted here are passed to independent tree contractors so they can contact you and quote. Those contractors are separate businesses and handle your information under their own privacy practices once it reaches them.
What is collected
Information you give us. When you submit the quote form or call the number on this site: your name, phone number, email address where you supply one, the property address or suburb, and whatever you tell us about the job. If you send photographs of a tree or a property, those are collected too.
Information collected automatically. Standard web server and analytics data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the referring page, and the date and time. This is used in aggregate to understand how the site is used.
Call data. Where calls are answered or recorded by a call handling service, records of the call may be kept. If a call is recorded you will be told at the start of it.
We do not ask for and do not want government identifiers, payment card numbers, bank account details or health information. Do not send them through this site.
How it is used
- To contact you about your enquiry and arrange a site visit and quote.
- To pass your enquiry to one or more independent tree contractors able to do the work.
- To respond to questions, complaints and follow-up.
- To maintain records of enquiries and quotes.
- To improve the website and understand which pages are useful.
Your information is not sold. It is not used for unrelated marketing without your consent, and any marketing message sent to you will include an unsubscribe option.
Who it is disclosed to
- Independent tree contractors — the core purpose of the site. They receive the details needed to contact and quote you.
- Service providers — the form provider (LeadConnector), website hosting, email and analytics providers, and any call handling service. These providers process information on our behalf.
- Where required by law — to a court, regulator or law enforcement agency where we are legally obliged to disclose.
Some service providers store data outside Australia. Where that occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and for analytics. Analytics cookies tell us which pages are visited and how people move through the site, not who you are.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. The site will still work with cookies disabled, though some form functionality may be affected. Third-party embedded content, such as the quote form and the map, may set its own cookies under its provider's policy.
Security
Information is held in access-controlled systems with the security measures offered by the relevant providers, including encryption in transit. No system is completely secure, and information sent over the internet carries inherent risk. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will respond in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Retention
Enquiry records are kept while they remain useful for responding to you and for resolving any dispute, and thereafter for as long as required by law. Information that is no longer needed for any lawful purpose is deleted or de-identified.
Access, correction and complaints
You may ask what personal information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Requests are handled within a reasonable period and you may be asked to verify your identity first.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
